Information and Computing Science

     

The major of Information and Computational Science is a four-year course of study,

and a Bachelor’s Degree of Science is awarded upon graduation. Based on the information field, information science and computational science are inter-crossed to form this major, whose research field covers both computational mathematics and

information technology. The goal of this major is to cultivate specialists who have a good command of mathematical foundation and mathematical thinking, data analysis, master the basic theories, methods and skills of information and computing

science, and are able to solve practical problems in information technology,

scientific and engineering computing.

Undergraduates with great academic aspirations can apply for overseas study programs or for a “2+2” overseas study program. After graduation, graduates can continue their study for a master or doctoral degree in the fields of applied mathematics, signal and information processing, theoretical computer science, software engineering, financial information engineering, etc., or can work in the areas of education, finance, securities and IT, which are related to teaching, research, application and development, and management .

There are 34 full-time teachers in Department of Information and Computing Science, including 3 professors and 12 associate professors. They have successively undertaken more than 10 programs supported by National Natural Science Foundation and more than 20 programs supported by Natural Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province. And up to now, they have published more than 100 high-level academic papers.
